Anyone with a passion for environmental issues and studies and at least a Bachelor’s degree in science may volunteer to be a judge for the Golden Climate Olympiad. If you volunteer, expect to invest at least three hours of your time on the judging day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for judges during the event.

Judges are expected to:

  1. Read through every poster to evaluate its organization and content.
  2. Listen to every student’s presentation for five minutes.
  3. Ask several questions to judge each section according to the judging criteria.
  4. Provide feedback about the poster design, content, scientific method, data management, and student’s presentation to promote future improvement.
  5. Rate the student on all the questions listed under the six categories on the judging form.
