DISCOVER. PARTICIPATE. SHARE

The GCIEPO Culture Day will be held on 8th April from 9.00am to 4.00pm at  at the Karen Hub Mall in Karen – Nairobi.
The Karen Hub is a shopping mall in a public area, and many people will be there over the weekend to witness the cultural Diversity
of the Golden Climate Olympiad.

Kindly note the following about the Culture Day;

  1. A stand will be provided for every country.  You will decorate your stand and table with your flag, posters and postcards, fabrics, and pretty much any beautiful thing you can bring from your country. We encourage you to bring some artifacts; and if possible foods, desserts, delights and so on. Basically any food or snack that you’re able to carry from your country. You will put these on your table. You are free to sell the items you bring to the culture day at reasonable prices.

  2. We encourage participants wear their national dress or to be in traditional costumes. Let other people see what you wear in your country. This can include accessories like necklaces, bangles and so on. You can bring something to dress people in and share photo sessions with them.

  3. For those who are able, prepare songs, poems, music, dance performances and so on to perform to other participants. We want this to be an avenue for you to express yourself in a way unique to your culture. You can invite other people to participate in your performance to make sure everyone has a good time as you represent your country and culture.

  4. We encourage you to bring songs/music and if possible musical instruments from your country. If you can play any musical instruments and would love to play if to fellow participants, you can bring any instruments that are easy to carry. For example, it’s easy to carry a guitar or flute or small drums etc. You can sign up for performances by downloading the Performance Registration Form HERE.
